Song I Yoon and Hee Bong Park began their careers together at Deloitte Tax Korea in 2007 — both working in international tax services for global corporations and expatriates. Over the following years, each built deeper expertise in Korean domestic industries, gaining an inside view of how Korean businesses actually operate.
In 2016, they joined THECL Accounting Corporation together, where they ran a boutique practice serving foreign-invested companies for nearly a decade. During that time, they assisted over 100 foreign companies — from the US, Europe, and Asia — in establishing and operating in Korea, managing ongoing tax, payroll, and compliance across industries including manufacturing, consulting, and IT.
In 2024, the team took the next step: building their own independent practice and forming a strategic partnership with STAR LAW — a Korean law firm — to offer clients a more comprehensive, seamlessly coordinated service across tax, payroll, and legal compliance.

STAR TAX Director, Licensed CPA in Washington, USA
Song I Yoon received her CPA license from Washington State, USA in 2011 and has accumulated over a decade of experience providing outsourcing services to foreign companies and non-Koreans in South Korea since 2008. Song’s professional journey includes working as a CPA in Deloitte Tax Group’s Global Employers Services (GES) division, handling tax consulting and filing services in Korea for numerous expatriates. She also served as the lead CPA for international services at Seonjin Accounting. Song held the position of finance/admin lead at an IT startup in Pangyo, where her expertise covered all aspects of accounting and tax needs for startups in South Korea. She graduated with an accounting major from the Ohio State University.
HEE BONG PARK
STAR TAX Partner, South Korean Licensed CPA
Hee Bong Park, the lead partner at STAR TAX, is a licensed Korean CPA and certified tax accountant with over 17 years of expertise. His experience includes international tax consulting services such as tax audit defense, appeals, and BEPS & TP documentation for global firms. Park has held roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Deloitte Korea, and served as the in-charge CPA for international tax advisory and dispute control at Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C). A Seoul National University graduate, he became an external tax advisor for the Seoul Tax Office in 2016.
